Triennale Design Museum

The Belvedere area of the Royal Villa of Monza hosts the Permanent Italian Design Collection of the Triennale Design Museum. This is proof of the heterogeneity of Italian design history, of the innovations and experiments that have made it renowned and recognisable and of the historic connection with its undisputed territory of development: Brianza with its furniture and decor industries.

This permanent exhibition area restores and strengthens the historic connection between the Triennale and Monza.

In 1923 in fact the Biennial of Decorative Arts was founded and its first four editions took place in the Royal Villa of Monza. From the 5th edition onward the events were held in Milan, like the Triennale in the Palazzo dell’Arte planned by Giovanni Muzio.
