Ethnological Museum of Monza and Brianza

The Museum of Speed was inaugurated on the 19th June within the prestigious Autodrome of Monza. Giacomo Agostini, the multi time world champion motorcycle racer, who won his first world championship here, was also present at the ribbon- cutting. The Museum is neither supposed to be simply a collection of racing vehicles nor the chronological history of the sport events held in the Autodrome but an exhibition area where visitors can live a multi-sensorial experience walking through fourteen different ever-changing themed areas. Inside the complex is an Information Point for tourists and visitors where they can find Italian-speaking and English-speaking tour guides and upon booking also German-speaking guides ready to illustrate the tours that can be taken around the circuit or on foot. Indeed, here it is possible to book guided tours, bike rentals and track laps in historic cars.  The guided tour consists of the tour of the National Autodrome of Monza and of the most evocative areas of the “Temple of Speed”, such as the Press Room, the Race Direction, the Podium, the Pit Building, the Paddock and the Race Pit.

In the back of the paddocks are some shops linked with motorcycling and the Circuit: a well-stocked bookshop selling gadgets and memorabilia, a merchandising shop linked with the world of Formula One and that of the National Autodrome of Monza, a Motorama Club selling a rare and complete selection of models of the most widespread and sought-after brands, a shop linked with technical sports clothing and, finally, a food&beverage store.
