Provostal Church of Sant'Ambrogio and San Simpliciano

The present church, which has very old origins, is the result of the severe work carried out on the pre-existing Romanic church between the end of the 18th and the beginning of the 19th century. On the contrary the bell tower, one of the most beautiful in Brianza, has kept its original Romanic features. Its spectacular steps were built in the 1830s while the facade was completed about fifty years later. The inside, which has a solemn neoclassic aspect especially due to the architect Simone Cantoni, is enriched with some precious 17th-century paintings; the decorations on the ceilings by the painter Davide Beghè date back to1899.
